WE PRESERVE THE MEMORY OF WAR THROUGH PEOPLE’S STORIES

VARTA is a series of documentary short films that tell the story of the war in Ukraine through people’s stories.

We preserve the memory of the war through the personal reflections of the protagonists — sincere, human, and cinematic.

It is a series of documentary novellas created by the NEUTRINO team, led by Ukrainian photographer, film director, and producer Maryana Shafro, together with director, cinematographer, and producer Yevhen Matviienko.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the team has been filming Ukrainian soldiers to preserve their faces, stories, and experiences in Ukraine’s modern history.

These films are a testimony of war, the strength of the human spirit, and a memory that must be heard today and carried into future generations.

VARTA exists to preserve memory, document reality, and speak to the world through cinema — with respect, accuracy, and human truth.
